Training Course Outline

MDA for Enterprise Collaboration

with Component-X™ and Magic Draw

Course: TR-MDA-SA-1

Format: 3 Days Lecture and Lab

Audience: Systems Architects

Prerequisites: This course assumes the student has:

  • A basic understanding of systems architecture

  • Some modeling experience

  • Some programming experience

Course Description

This course will provide the student with an understanding of Model-Driven Architecture and Servies Oriented Architecture with relevant standards and tools. The OMG standard Enterprise Collaboration Architecture (ECA) will be used as a basis for modeling collaboration, business processes and integration.

Using Component-X™ the student will learn how to design a collaborative business process that will create and use SOA-based web services to achieve an open, distributed environment. While web services will be used, a detailed understanding of web services is not required due to the use of MDA automation.

At the end of the course, students will be able to design, implement, integrate and deploy collaborative business processes using component assembly and web services. Students will also understand the process and requirements for using a model driven architecture.

Various exercises will be used during the course. In-house courses may utilize examples derived from the companies own business processes and requirements.
